Visual identity is the face of a company. It is a set of interconnected visual elements which are used to communicate not only with the public but also within the company itself. There are countless typefaces in the world, especially plenty of the Latin-script ones. How many of those are of a real quality though, including well designed diacritics? Significantly less but still enough. And yet there are times when none of it meets your expectations, whether it is regarding the aesthetics, technicality or license terms.
