Václav Daneš — Malba jako uskutečňování bytí

At the end of 2018, we were very pleased to design Tomáš Pavlíček’s publication Václav Daneš – Malba jako uskutečňování bytí (Václav Daneš – Painting as an Implementation of Being). Just as the works of Václav Daneš (1936–2004) were intentionally ‘hidden’ from the public by the socialistic regime in Czechoslovakia, so the vivid colorfulness of Daneš’s paintings will be revealed only after the monochrome cover of the publication is opened.

For the typesetting, Vesterbro by Black[Foundry] and Trivia Sans by Storm Type Foundry were the choice. The book is jointly published by the Faculty of Art and Design JEPU in Ústí nad Labem and Municipal Museum of Ústí nad Labem.
